Good news!

Glendon Haddix of Streetlight Graphics came through again on the perfect cover for my next book, Dead News.

And in more good news, I made my editing date in November and am currently working on revisions. Everything is on schedule for Dead News to be available by March.

The bad news? Well, that's for Sheriff Mehaffey and her crew to deal with, not me, thankfully!

Once again, my cover artist nailed it! That's Glendon S. Haddix of Streetlight Graphics, just in case you hadn't picked that up before. He's done all the covers for the Dakota Mystery series.

And you'll all be happy -- but perhaps not as happy as I am -- that I met my November editing date. I just got my revisions back this week. If all goes well, I'm looking to publish Dead Quiet early next year.

The third book in the Dakota Mystery series has an ebook cover! Once again, Glendon Haddix of Streetlight Graphics nailed it on the first try.

As for the book itself, I pulled two almost-all-nighters to finish the draft of Dead Wrong for my editor last weekend. I wish I could say I nailed it on the first try but I am expecting a sea of red.

I'm not sure exactly how long the editing process will take, as each book is different, but I hope to get Dead Wrong out to you by early next year. Fingers crossed!

The e-book cover for Dead Dreams is done!

I'm really pleased with how it turned out, thanks to the magic of Glendon S. Haddix of Streetlight Graphics.

The draft of Dead Dreams is now in the hands of my editor. I've got my fingers crossed that revisions won't be a nightmare. I'm still aiming for a release date before the end of the year.

As you can see, I've added a new cover, in preparation for the print version of Dead White. I've uploaded the e-book version to the various retailer sites already but it may take a while to filter through the system. The print version will take longer, likely sometime in January, but I will announce it here.

The cover artist is Glendon S. Haddix of Streetlight Graphics. I sent him my ideas one day, expecting a long wait, and he really wowed me by designing my cover the very next day! And he nailed it the first time. No revisions.

I love the way he incorporated the isolated, rural landscape of the prairie with the frozen chain that's a key element in the mystery. And the red font for my name...a subconscious hint that murder's afoot? He even came up with the tagline on top. Picture me epically impressed.

Before I release the print version of Dead White, I am also contemplating minor revisions to the text, especially to the first chapter, which appears to have confused some people. Not good. Making readers stumble right out of the chute is likely to chuck me into the cattle trough!
